Unlike so many of these found in dug condition, this Austrian gun tool is 100% complete with no breaks or missing chunks. It's rusty but there is no flaking. You could easily preserve this with electrolysis or just leave it as-is. Either way, it would make a superb display piece.
This relic was dug on private property in what was a Confederate camp in Page County, Virginia. I don't have any additional information as to whether this was found near Fisher's Hill or some other site.
It would be hard to find a nice one of these unless you came across a non-dug example.
