I'm going from memory here, but I believe this one-piece button was manufactured in the 1830's. They were issued to members of the Vermont militia and saw service in the Mexican War and after. This example is the finest I have ever seen and it's the sort of button that demonstrates what an art form button making was at one time in America. 100% gilt, non-excavated, perfectly straight shank, crisp backmark -- this one has it all.
Perfect for the Vermont collector or for my fellow American military buttonists.
IF YOU WANT TO ORDER AN ITEM…
(or just ask a question about it) please email me directly at cwartifax@gmail.com
Using the “Order Information” button right below the price USUALLY works, but not always. I don’t know why, but it could have to do with spam settings on either end. The easiest way to order or inquire about an item is simply to email me directly. Again, my email address is cwartifax@gmail.com
Thanks!
