Iron Mess Knife Recovered at Port Hudson, Louisiana
Item #: JMS-795
This knife is rusted as you would expect after 130+ years in the ground. It was dug many years ago on private property, with permission, near the Port Hudson battlefield. It's poor man's cutlery and not a fighting knife or anything. But this is the sort of relic that helps humanize the story of our great "War Between the States". It would look really cool with a dug dinner plate, skillet or fork & spoon.
The verbal history with this item is that it was once part of the John Graham collection.
