This superb medal was worn by members of the Dahlgren Post #2 of the Grand Army of the Republic as they attended the hometown National Encampment of 1890 in Boston. This medal is absolutely original to the period, unrepaired and in perfect condition. The enamel is a beautiful, deep blue and the lettering is unworn and crisp. It would be simply impossible to upgrade this piece. Please note that, while fairly scarce, there is another one of these on the market with another dealer. It's priced at $225.00. I think that's actually fair, but I got a fantastic deal on this and can afford to let it go a bit more inexpensively.
