At approximately 3.5" (across) by 2" (top to bottom at longest point), this Hotchkiss base is a great candidate for restoration. Nothing has been done to it yet and it has been sitting in my garage for about 20 years or more along with a pile of other debris from Antietam and South Mountain.
This particular relic was recovered at South Mountain by Mr. Ed Stotler or Williamsport, Md. I purchased a bunch of items -- including the two buckets of frags -- from Ed in the early 1980's.
