If the most perfect dug eagle plate grades a 10/10, then this one is a 9.5 - 9.7! Beautiful patina, two strong hooks just rusted a bit, and full lead fill. No repairs (I seldom sell any repaired relics but if I do, I disclose it!). No cracks or dents or digger-nicks.

The rust on the hooks is quite stable, as is the lead. There are some intentional scratches in the lead (done by the soldier) but they are very hard to notice.

This beautiful eagle plate was metal-detected on private property, with permission, in Bentonville, North Carolina. It was recovered by a Mr. Al Potts of Raeford, North Carolina in 1970.
