This rare bullet was metal-detected on private property, north of Vicksburg, Mississippi. It's one you don't see for sale very often. For years, diggers and collectors referred to this as a "Bavarian Sharps". That nomenclature is no longer considered valid and experts are of varied opinions as to the origin of this bullet. While they are found in various theaters, these .54 caliber beauties turn up most often in the vicinity of Vicksburg and Bovina, Ms.
The condition here is nearly perfect with virtually no patina chipping and a small casting flaw at the base. I've only had one other of these before and have no idea when another will come my way.
