This beautiful button was dug at Fort Washington, Georgia. It’s a War of 1812-era button with a nice, foliated "I" for infantry. Best of all, the button has the original shank, which is seldom the case with these when they are taken from the ground. Fort Washington was the scene of military activity as early as 1774, when a stockade was erected there. If I were going to keep this button, I would sprinkle a little dust or powder on the face. That would make the I (which is actually a very good strike) stand out magnificently. But I prefer to leave the final disposition of this relic to the new owner. These 1812-era buttons are rapidly gaining in popularity.

(or just ask a question about it) please email me directly at cwartifax@gmail.com

Using the “Order Information” button right below the price USUALLY works, but not always.  I don’t know why, but it could have to do with spam settings on either end. The easiest way to order or inquire about an item is simply to email me directly.  Again, my email address is cwartifax@gmail.com

Thanks!
