Corps Badges & Insignia - Dug and Non-Dug
Small, Unknown Star Emblem
Item #: JMS-712
This one is a mystery. It came in a large grouping of relics I have had for many years and just haven't gotten around to parsing out. I can't tell you much about this. It appears to be an iron-backed device with a brass or copper front. It has a star-type emblem but I am not going to make up any stories about this being a Texas button or something like that. We'll save the tall tales for a certain online auction site!
There is an old price tag with this item that reads -- "Fd. Conf. Camp Louisiana" and it has a 45.00 price. I didn't pay anything close to that and you won't either. Could it be rare and valuable? I suppose. But it's most likely some sort of privately-purchased emblem and not something martially issued. The back is partially missing and there is no attachment instrument remaining. The relic itself is about a half-inch in diameter...just a tad bigger than the standard vest-size button.
This is a cool-looking piece but I am sorry I can't tell you what it is. If you know, drop me an email.
IF YOU WANT TO ORDER AN ITEM…
(or just ask a question about it) please email me directly at cwartifax@gmail.com
Using the “Order Information” button right below the price USUALLY works, but not always. I don’t know why, but it could have to do with spam settings on either end. The easiest way to order or inquire about an item is simply to email me directly. Again, my email address is cwartifax@gmail.com
Thanks!
