Half of a small pistol flask that was dug somewhere in the South. The previous owner had long forgotten where it was recovered. Fredericksburg is a possibility as much of what I purchased from him came from there. But he could not make any guarantees about this item's recovery location. I won't either.

It doesn't much matter. This is a very displayable and attractive relic with a superb patriotic design. It will look great in a display case with a dug pistol and some dropped pistol bullets.
