With virtually no flaws, on the most minimal signs of age -- which is to be expected for a non-dug button left in the attic for 150 years -- this New Hampshire coat-size button is a real gem. It has a straight shank, good gold and a desirable "Scovill" rmdc backmark. That indicates manufacture beginning about 1851. These were definitely "there".

If you collect buttons, New Hampshire items or if you're looking for the perfect piece to accompany your New Hampshire autograph, letter or Civil War soldier CDV - I think you've landed on it!

I don't come across as many non-dug New Hampshire buttons as I do Maines, Vermonts, and the other New England states.
