This cute little ticket is the first of its kind I have ever seen. It is dated May 1st, 1900 and permits the bearer to attend an hourly presentation of an electric cyclorama demonstration depicting the Battle of Manila Bay. Admiral George Dewey was, at this point in U.S. History, the nation's most admired and revered war hero. This public exposition was, no doubt, quite similar to what would become the world-renowned electric map exhibit in Gettysburg. This one was in Chicago, however, and was conducted before a great, city-wide celebration of Admiral Dewey held later in the year. One the back of the ticket, there is a guide to all the action presented in the demonstration.

The condition is excellent, with no creases, stains or damage. There is just enough age evident to be sure this piece is original and not a reprint or cheap, modern knock off.

If you collect Spanish American War memorabilia, or if you just like cool, historic pieces of ephemera, this is an affordable and rare little item, not to be missed.
