Though hardly rare, these buttons are not encountered quite as often as the two-piece Eagle "I" buttons of the post-Civil War era.  At first glace, the button looks like the standard Infantry button of the period, but on closer inspection, one can easily see that the Eagle device is actually a third, separate piece applied to the button. I am not sure when this innovation was introduced or how effective it was.  But it certainly is an interesting example of how button construction evolved.

This particular button is coat-size, in excellent non-dug condition. It would be a wise addition to any Indian War or general button collection.

IF YOU WANT TO ORDER AN ITEM…

(or just ask a question about it) please email me directly at cwartifax@gmail.com

Using the “Order Information” button right below the price USUALLY works, but not always.  I don’t know why, but it could have to do with spam settings on either end. The easiest way to order or inquire about an item is simply to email me directly.  Again, my email address is cwartifax@gmail.com

Thanks!
