These are small, 13 mm buttons worn -- one on each side of the head -- on the Union soldier's kepi or bummer's cap. The buttons are sound and the shanks are loose -- as they were designed to be originally.  Very nice patina on each button.

 

Best of all?  I have priced these well below what they would retail for at a show or in a shop. The price below is for the pair.  And do remember that small shipments like buttons and bullets can be shipped First Class, very safely and inexpensively, if you don't want to bother with Priority Mail.
