Federal state seal buttons in great condition are getting harder and harder to come by (aside from New York!) Putting a quality Michigan button in your collection is getting to be quite a tall order. This one is nearly perfect. It is coat size, has heavy gilt and a perfectly straight shank. The backmark is faint, but enough of it is legible under a loupe to make out that it’s "Goddard Bros." The only flaw here is that the back is ever-so-slightly pushed. Almost not worth mentioning.
