Patriotic covers and lettersheets were a staple of the Civil War era, especially in the North. There are Southern specimens, but paper was in shorter supply there. I just picked up a collection of unused, original period covers and am offering them to you at prices I believe are below other dealers.
This example is one I would grade in VG-EXC condition. It has some age toning but it is complete, untorn and the color is still quite eye-catching. Very small stain on the back, not affecting anything. Back flap remains intact and is slightly wrinkled.
