This one stands out across the room -- the date is well-struck and crisp. The patina is that typical deep-woods look that collectors of excavated items love. In fact, both sides of the penny are just as sharp as can be. This is a no-upgrade specimen!

The coin was dug on private property at Hamilton's Crossing, Virginia. That's not far from Fredericksburg and it's where Stonewall Jackson's Corp was encamped priory to that pivotal 1862 battle. Jackson's men were on the far right of the CS lines, very near Hamilton's Crossing, during the battle.

You're going to be thrilled with this relic!
