Many "D. Evans" backmarks are pre-Civil War and Civil War. But "D. Evans * Extra *" is considered just post Civil War on cuff and vest buttons.

This is an Infantry button in 15 mm size. It's beautiful, retaining almost all its original gilt. The back is pushed in ever so slightly. The shank is straight and the backmark is crisp.
