While this cover does have some age-spotting, it's still complete and would make a beautiful display piece. The cover is displayed in "unused" condition in the Weiss catalog, but this one was postally used and therefore more desirable. Postmark is obvious but light and, in some places, obscure. The maker-mark on the back is quite legible as you can see in the picture. And the stamp is boldly cancelled with the classic "bullseye" design.

Best of all, this beauty sports a "United States Cavalry" theme, complete with trooper, horse and guidon. If you already have a display of federal cavalry items, what a wonderful accent this would add! If you don't but have been wanting to create a Cavalry-theme on a shelf or in a display case, just imagine how cool this would look with a few Eagle "C" buttons, a carbine sling buckle, a saber and some cavalry images. What a great addition this would make!
