This unused patriotic cover is not quite as common as other Civil War envelopes bearing the imprint of President Washington. There are several designs featuring the Father of our country inside a Union shield, but this variant is the only one on which a liberty cap rests.

Also, this cover has been seen with regimental imprints on the left side. (If you have one, let me know and I'll buy it. I collect regimentally imprinted covers!)

It's not quite scarce but it is also not as frequently encountered as other Washington covers. This example is in excellent condition with some light toning. The back is blank and there has been no reduction or repair.
