In outstanding condition, this unused Union patriotic cover depicts a vividly red and completely unapologetic American flag. Soldiers and civilians alike would send correspondence in these pro-Union envelopes as a means of keeping up morale and preserving the Union spirit. During and after the war, they became wildly popular as collectibles. The back side of this piece is perfect and blank. There has been no reduction or repair. All the covers I sell are 100% original to the Civil War and are not modern reprints.
