This little document - (appx. 2.75" by 7.75") - would look great in a little frame on your wall or desk. It sports a patriotic American flag and the figure of a soldier standing guard. This is nothing more than a war dated receipt for payment to the wife or widow of a Massachusetts Civil War soldier or sailor. The name is Linton but I have not researched it. The imprinted date is 1864 and the recipient was paid six dollars by the selectmen of Northbridge. This was the local community's way of enhancing the paltry benefits paid to war wives & widows by state and federal governments.
I've seen lots of these but VERY FEW with attractive imprints like this. These guys did it right. It's all about "eye-appeal" and this one definitely wants to grace the wall of your den or office. Condition is PERFECT.

Using the “Order Information” button right below the price USUALLY works, but not always. I don’t know why, but it could have to do with spam settings on either end. The easiest way to order or inquire about an item is simply to email me directly. Again, my email address is cwartifax@gmail.com
Thanks!
