This may be the rarest or second-rarest patriotic envelope I have ever had in stock. It's 100% original to the Civil War, unused and in excellent, though not perfect, condition. There is about a 1 inch tear in the lower right of the envelope face. This is likely due to the cover's removal from a Civil War period or postbellum album. Patriotics were widely collected by adults and children during and after the war. The mounting remnants on the reverse side are not considered by collectors to detract from condition. The tear does bear a small impact on condition. While this cover is not mint, it is still in very fine condition and easily repaired if you choose to go that route. The last perfect specimen of this variety that I saw for sale brought just a shade over $100.00. Used examples will cost you even more.
