This button has exceptionally nice gilting for a dug relic and the face is just wonderful. The back looks awful but one must consider that these particular buttons were designed with iron/tin backs and long hooks. This is because they were meant for use with federally issued ponchos. I've seen a number of dug examples but very few that still retain the whole poncho hook. This one has at least part still remaining. The button was one of the first items I listed when this web site went "live" in 1998. Over the years, somehow, the listing got taken down. So I've decided to snap new photos and present it again. For the money, I think this is a particularly good buy.
