This is a great, clean and unused cover depicting a very colorful Zouave. Almost indiscernable is the "J.E. Tilton, Boston" imprint at the bottom. I needed my glasses AND a loupe to see it. Which is exactly how it was printed. This is definitely not a modern reprint or copy! The back of the cover is complete. There is some evidence of a very old mounting, almost certainly dating to the period during or right after the war. Collecting these was a craze then, as now, and both adults and children kept wonderful scrapbooks filled with covers relating to the war.

 

I think you'll enjoy this one. It would look great in a display of Zouave-related images or artifacts!
