This is the short Enfield from the arsenal in Marshall, Texas. There are better ones available but they are usually anywhere from 15-25 dollars. This one is average and would make a decent place-holder in your display until the perfect one comes along. As you can see, there are single gouges on both sides of the bullet. Perhaps this was the beginning of a soldier's attempt at whittling or carving. In any regard, I've priced this one VERY reasonably.

 

This particular bullet was dug up on private property, with permission from the landowner, very near the Mansfield, Louisiana battlefield.
