This 21 mm Infantry button is in what I would call "average non-dug condition". But it has a number of things going for it. If you know how to and are comfortable with cleaning non-excavated buttons, then I believe this one would be well above "average". It also has a perfectly straight shank and the slightly scarcer "Superior Quality" backmark. This backmark is definitely Civil War and should not be confused with the Superior Quality backmark on the backs of so many of those non-dug CSA buttons that, though period, never made it to the Confederacy in time to see service.
This one definitely looks as though it was worn by some Billy Yank. And I've priced it for a quick sale.
