Here are eight, very nice Union "I" buttons in overcoat (23 mm) size. They are all Civil War period or earlier and have the exact same "Scovill" backmark between two rings of dots. Buttons all have nice gilt and straight shanks. They could probably do with a very conservative cleaning as there is just some light mildew evident. I believe these were all removed from the same coat in an Ohio attic many years ago. I have no idea who the coat belonged to or what happened to it. I would sure love to have it but you take what you can get. And as Civil War buttons go, these are pretty darn nice.

 

Best of all, I am wholesaling these to you. A dealer can still make money buying this lot. But I suppose I'd rather see them go to someone who has a frock coat needing matching buttons. In any regard, it's first-come, first-served. And these are priced well below retail, which is about $35.00 per button.
