In 35+ years of collecting, I have never personally seen an Eagle "D" coat button that was silvered rather than gilted. Yet here one is. This button was dug in Richmond, Virginia...on private property...and with permission from the landowner. There are no pushes, dents, or problems of any kind beyond just the tiniest little chip on the back of the button -- not visible from the front at all and barely visible on the back! The straight shank remains firmly attached and the rmdc pre-war backmark is quite crisp. This may have been a special-order button sought by a high-ranking Cavalry officer. I have taken the button's picture with and without flash and either way -- the picture quality doesn't do justice to this beautiful relic.

I've seen silver "I" and "Staff" buttons...but never a "D". This is one that will take a good dug button collection to the next level.

IF YOU WANT TO ORDER AN ITEM…

(or just ask a question about it) please email me directly at cwartifax@gmail.com

Using the “Order Information” button right below the price USUALLY works, but not always.  I don’t know why, but it could have to do with spam settings on either end. The easiest way to order or inquire about an item is simply to email me directly.  Again, my email address is cwartifax@gmail.com

Thanks!
